Maintenance:
For maintenance issues with your room or in HI please email: [email protected]
Silence Hours:
We maintain a quiet atmosphere in the residential and guest room areas of the main building at all times. Quiet/silence hours on campus are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. daily. Please make an extra effort to be quiet at these times to provide a restful space.
Teaching Yoga:
We are happy to provide an environment conducive to personal practice, learning how to teach yoga, and deepening skills of yoga teaching. If you have participated in a Himalayan Institute yoga teacher certification program, we invite you to take some time to transition into this community and then discuss possibilities for teaching yoga with our Mission Programs department.
If you have not trained with us before, we invite you to take time to acclimate yourself and attend HI yoga classes and programs. This will help you to become more familiar with the specific context and focus of our educational approach before discussing the possibility of becoming a teacher here.
Please note that all community yoga classes are scheduled by our Mission Programs department and posted on a weekly basis. Other classes taught by teachers who are not authorized to teach here are not permitted.
Wireless Internet:
WiFi service is available in most rooms and common areas of the main building.
Phone Usage:
Cell phone reception can be unreliable on campus. The best place to use the phone is outside the main building.
Please observe the following when using cell phones on campus:
- Do not engage in phone calls in your room; sound carries very well in the residential wings. You may make calls in common areas and outside as long as you are aware and respectful of others around you.
- Silence your phone during classes and silence hours. If you need to use your phone, leave the quiet area/class space to do so.
