The Himalayan Institute provides for vacation/time-off, as well as holiday time off, for Residents. Time-off includes absences due to illness.
Employee Absence Policy and Request/Report Form
Paid Time-off (PTO) for eligible employees is awarded on a calendar year basis as described below. There is no paid time off for part time employees. PTO for new full time employees in the first 12 months, and the remaining calendar year in which their 12 month anniversary occurs, is explained later in this section.* Incremental increases of awards of PTO are based on years of employment as noted in the chart below. The increase is effective January 1 of the calendar year in which the employment anniversary date occurs.

Visitor Policy and Request Form
Himalayan Institute Residents are welcome to have family and friends visit them at the Institute. This is a way to share our home and give those close to us an opportunity to experience our community. Day visitors are always welcome. Approval, room reservations and fees are required for overnight visitors.
